Service Description
Reflection Series for mental health providers who want to learn about the Tonalpohualli (Mexica/Aztec Count of Days) and integrate it into their practice. The next cycle, 13 Kalli, will begin in March, 2025 The yearlong series will start on February 26, 2025 from 3pm to 4:30pm pst and we will continue to meet approximately every 20 days on Wednesdays at 3pm for the whole year. The Tonalpohualli can be thoughtfully incorporated into mental health practices as a process for identity development and connection, self-reflection, mindfulness, and personal growth. By integrating the Tonalpohualli into mental health practices, mental health providers can offer a re-indigenizing path to self-awareness, resilience, and healing. Ways the Tonalpohualli Can be Integrated with Mental Health Practice • Cultural, Spiritual, and Ancestral Connection For those of us with Mesoamerican heritage, engaging with the Tonalpohualli can strengthen cultural identity and offer a deeper connection to ancestral wisdom. • Daily Reflections Each day-sign embodies unique energies, traits, and lessons. Reflecting on the qualities of the day's sign encourages presence and mindfulness and helps individuals connect with their emotions and goals in life. • Self-Awareness and Personal Growth Understanding one's birth day-sign (Tonalamatl "identity") can provide insight into strengths, challenges, and patterns, fostering self-acceptance and personal development. • Cyclical Perspective on Challenges The Tonalpohualli’s cyclical nature reminds individuals that struggles are part of a larger process, promoting resilience and a sense of renewal. Cost $600 for the total series
